Windows 7 Beta 1 Build 7000

Well, I have been using Windows 7 now for about a week now. I am using the 64 bit version and to my surprise it found most of my drivers. I did not have to search for 1 system driver which was great.

The Drivers I am having issue with are my Printers. I have an Epson Stylus RX500, a Dymo Duo Label Printer and a HP LaserJet 6L that is attached via TeraStation setup as a network printer.

I have found the 64 bit XP drivers for the Epson and the Dymo, but unfortunately they don't work. As far as the Networked HP LaserJet, It won't bring up and kind of a dialog box for me to install the printer. I am hoping the Next Build will be better.

Another Issue I am having, Windows Update has stopped working. So it is possible that if the system was able to connect to Windows Update, it may find the drivers I need.

And one last issue, Word 2007 has suddenly refused to start. No matter what I do now, all I get is the Starting Logo.

Other than these few issues it really has been working great.

The interface is nice and add more eye-candy. The new features such as the Show Desktop Peek is a nice addition. And for those of you that have missed the Windows Started Splash screen, It's back and animated.

Most of my programs have installed regardless of the error saying they are incompatible. They all seam to work just fine.

I did install the Beta copy of Norton 360 which brought my system to a crawl. After uninstalling it, my performance increased it again.

I'll write more later.
